Frequently asked questions
The most common rental is the 3 meter twin axel fridge this is the preferred size and space requirement for food preparation with added space for chilling drinks. We also supply the 2.5 meter ideal for chilling drinks and pre prepared food. This fridge is ideal for home parties where access is more difficult. Also available is the much larger 4 meter chiller better suited to catering with regular food deliveries. Please refer to our Homepage (https://www.letsjustchill.co.uk/)for specific internal volume, and overall footprint size of the trailer.
Please refer to our Home Page for dimensions and weights.
Shelving on both sides is provided as standard but is also optional. We can provide shelving to one or both sides.
Chiller trailers can be set to temperatures between 0°c and +10°c. Freezer trailers can be set to temperatures between -18°C and +10°C. We ask for your preferred temperature as part of the booking arrangements and pre-set it whilst preparing your trailer for delivery. If you are uncertain, our driver will be happy to advise upon delivery, provided power is available.
We do not operate the refrigeration units while trailers are in transit so each trailer will require some time after being connected to power before it reaches working temperature. That time will vary according to the temperature required and the weather on the day but around 1-2 hours is a reasonable allowance. Our driver will be happy to advise.
Unfortunately not. Contracts are for delivery to the location where the trailer will be used. We leave the trailer fitted with a wheel clamp and hitch lock for security. Our driver retains the security keys when the trailer is set up.
The trailers can be sited on a slight incline but must be on a stable surface including grass and gravel provide they have a firm base and are not going to sink. All trailers are fitted with adjustable stabilising legs so your site does not need to be perfectly level. We use 4WD vehicles to tow and site the trailers and our drivers are proud of their ability to rise to a challenge.
The safety of our drivers and members of the public cannot be compromised and therefore our drivers reserve the right to refuse to site a trailer on ground that they deem to be unfit for purpose or, in exceptional circumstances, to refuse delivery of a trailer where the site is inaccessible or where they or members of the public may be unnecessarily placed in danger.
If you have any concerns regarding access or siting of the trailer, please call our team to discuss.
The cooling unit on the trailer can be powered either by a standard 13A wall socket or by a generator. We supply a 15m cable with a 16A c-form weatherproof plug together with an adaptor for use with a domestic 13amp socket. If using a standalone generator, a minimum of 5Kva is required.
Yes, all trailers have an internal light, with an on/off switch, that operates as long as the trailer is connected to power. Our driver will explain on delivery.
All trailers have doors that lock and our driver will leave a key when the trailer is delivered and set up.
We offer deliveries 7 days a week. Delivery and collection slots are on an “AM” (08.00 to 12.30) or “PM” (12.30 to 17.00) basis. Please note that we cannot book exact times as we cannot account for the effect of other jobs and/or traffic on our schedules. Special arrangements for earlier/later delivery/collection may be negotiable subject to driver availability.
They are not noisy compared to ambient noise levels in most commercial situations.
The main consideration is how to get power across a footpath or pavement. This is usually impractical on a public road.
No, the trailers are fixed and locked into a static position for the whole duration of the rental.

Depending on demand at the time and your location we can usually be with you within a few hours.
Please call us straightaway. We are well set up to deal with any issues. We are supported by contracted engineers, as well as having our own expertise and in the worst case we have spare equipment.
You only need a standard 13amp 3 pin mains (not an extension lead) socket as a minimum. A 16amp “C” form socket is even better. We will provide the leads between the socket and the trailer and we prefer to limit this distance to 20m to avoid potential “Voltage Drop” or connection issues.
All units have emergency releases inside. Even if the door is locked you can still open the door from the inside
Adjustment is not normally necessary, however sometimes our customers need to switch from Freezer to Fridge or vice versa, and we can talk you through this.
We just ask you not to leave waste packaging etc in the unit, and to clean up any major spills. Otherwise we take care of the cleaning.
We specialise in short notice hire. However, for planned hire, the more notice you can give the better – especially if your requirement is across the summer?
We will ask questions to assess any risk of theft of the trailer while on hire and will only arrange hire if we feel we can accept this liability. However, the contents must be insured the individual or business hiring the trailer - it is not covered on our insurance.
We would ask you to pay for this at cost – nothing more!
